The AI Demo Everyone Wanted Shipped
The Situation
A prototype using generative AI performs impressively in a controlled demonstration. Stakeholders want it released quickly, but the team has not yet established reliable evaluation, data-handling boundaries, failure behaviour, or human review requirements.
My earlier experience at ILOVEGREENER taught me how easy it is for technical excitement to move ahead of product maturity. In later CTO work, I wanted AI adoption to be ambitious without allowing a successful demonstration to be mistaken for production readiness.
What would you do?
